Arnhem, Holland – Researchers of Teijin Aramid, based in the Netherlands, and Rice College in the USA, have been awarded with the honorary 'Paul Schlack Man-Made Fibers Prize' for corporate-academic partnerships in consist of research. Their new super materials are now driving innovation in bump, healthcare, automotive, and (smart) attires.
The honorary Paul Schlack valuable was granted by the European Man-made Fibers Association to Dr . Marcin Otto, Business Development Manager attending Teijin Aramid and Prof. Doctor Matteo Pasquali from Rice College Texas, for the development of a new demographic super fibers using carbon nanotubes (CNT). The new super fibers bunch high thermal and electrical conductivity, as seen in metals, with the freedom, robust handling and strength linked textile fibers.
"The introduction linked carbon nanotube fibers marked beginning a series of innovations in various industries, type says Marcin Otto, business refinement manager at Teijin Aramid. "For example, CNT fibers can be lifesaving for heart patients: one query of CNT fiber in the heart failure muscle suffices to transmit dominant electrical pulses to the heart. Or else by replacing copper in important information cables and light power cables merely CNT fibers it's possible to make geostationary satellites, aircraft and high end cars smaller and more robust at the same time. "
As of 1971, the Paul Schlack support annually grants one monetary valuable to an individual young researcher in order for outstanding research in the field of fiber searches, and an honorary prize to your leader(s) of excellent academic and corporate searches partnerships to promote research at universities and colleges and research institutes.
For several years, top rated researchers at Rice University and thus Teijin Aramid worked together towards development of CNT production. Teijin Aramid and Rice University published personal research findings on carbon nanotubes fibers in the leading scientific log, Science, at the beginning of 2013.
